beauty goodies from Tokyo

I was bored and looking through some of my past photos when I realized that I took photos of the beauty products I bought during my last trip in Tokyo. So I’m hereby reviewing some of the products that I’ve tried, while the rest are still unopened. Gosh, the amount of unopened items is ridiculous and I am going to Korea next week! beauty addict much eh.

1) Integrate Eyebrow Pencil in brown

I got this because I dyed my hair and I didn’t have a suitable color for my brows. Also because I’ve never tried using a pencil before. Usually, it’s MAC’s eyebrow powder or eyeshadows. I did NOT regret getting it at all. Somehow, I much prefer using a pencil than powder!

2) Cleansing Water (Makeup remover)

I got this from Ranking Queen, which is a shop that showcases the best selling beauty products Jap girls are using. Pretty interesting concept if you ask me. This makeup remover manage to cleanse effectively. I use 2-3 pumps on cotton pads to remove a whole face of makeup (excluding eyes). The only thing that I do not like is that I have to use cotton pads. Seems like extra waste to me, since my previous removers is applied directly to face, massage and rinse off.

3) Canmake Lash Care Essence

I did not measure the length of my lashes before I started using it and I am very inconsistent in using it so I do not really know if it really does work. But, I would like to think it does šŸ˜‰

3) Handy Baby (Lip Balm)

Almost done with this tube already! I use lip balms everyday so it’s pretty easy for me to finish a tube. I like the fact that is very glossy and there is no need to apply lip color if it’s a casual day, but for moisturizing wise, Vaseline is the one that still has my heart.

Ok, that’s it for a mini review. Hopefully I will be able to do more of these because it helps me keep track of what I had used before, and my thoughts on them. xx!

I can totally finish this trip in one post and it wouldn’t be extremely long, reason being I was only there for the weekend! x_x Yes it’s kind of stupid, especially since I had to spend close to 2 days in the air but oh wells, we had important things (that I can’t reveal now) to do over there šŸ˜‰

and the ~20hrs flight x_x

Gonna spam hotel photos now since T’s boss kindly booked a suite for us in downtown Chicago! It was theWit Hotel. I am so glad he booked that for us, because it was just next to where Transformers 3 was set LOL. Probably the main reason why I was excited about the show and did not find it boring like most of my friends.

and it was then time to head out! since it was already close to evening time, we decided to just talk a walk around the neighborhood and then settle down for a simple dinner.

the evening air was pretty cool and everywhere look serene. except for our dinner place where there were a lot of blacks around. guess we found the wrong place! =/ anyway, just look down and keep to yourself and trouble will not find you. we got a bathbomb from Lush so that we can soak our weariness away.

smells awesome and make our bodies shimmer like Edward Cullen =p

*********DAY 2*********

GOOD MORNING CHICAGO! I was pretty exhilarated that the weather was sooo good =)

Famous Chicago River where Transformers 3 was set!

Went to Eatt for breakfast, as recommended by the hotel staff. It is a pretty casual place, but not too shabby (like iHop, as T puts it. He says ‘poor people go to Mac and iHop’. *shrugs).

after fueling ourselves for the day, we walked to Magnificent Mile to do some shopping with the end destination being Lake Michigan.Ā The Magnificent MileĀ® is one of the top ten hospitality, fine dining and retail districts in the world, making it One of the Great Avenues of the World. (

look at how jet-lag T is LOL. yet I remain energetic and still can camwhore in H&M’s changing room. Can’t wait for H&M to arrive in SG. Just 2 more mths baby!

see what I mean by perfect weather? Lake Michigan, gorgeous indeed.

and that marks the end of the day for me. went for dinner at a steak house near the hotel but I didn’t take any photos because the lights were dim and it seems like a high-class place. Still feeling a bit sore that we can’t go to Mortons or Smith&Wollensky but oh wells, there’s always a next time.

And ta-da, my shopping loots for the day.

and day 3 is nothing much since we met his boss and went to the suburban area talking about how our lives would be like if we really relocate here.

bye Chicago, see you again this Christmas? xoxo.

to where the grass is greener.

I’ve been waiting for this day for so long, dreaming, lusting, and so on. finally it’s here. surprisingly, I don’t feel the surge of happiness I thought I would feel. instead, I feel kind of outside the situation, somehow, like it’s not happening to me. Guess this is another situation where my mind just blocks sudden changes and refuse to let me feel anything.

I guess I might learn to cherish once I start on the pile of unread books & magazines bought over the past year, stick to a gym routine, and try the recipes I had my eye on.

For now, I’m celebrating with a bottle of red wine since everyone is envying the fact that I can just quit. You know, it’s not that difficult typing the letter. People just have to stop and chase after what they want. Life is short. Give thanks, love, and live as though tomorrow might never come. xo.

I was on an emotional roller coaster and so I decided to take a break to have some personal time.

Did a mani+pedi and shopped around Orchard. And guess what? I found the PERFECT blackĀ stilettos. ZOMG I am so happy because it IS hard to find one that is at the right height, looks sexy, and fits comfortably. Just looking at it makes me grin like mad ;D

This post will have to suffice for now, because the much dreaded exam is next week. But it will be the last exam of my degree and I just have to bite my tongue and toughen up.

After that, I will continue my travelogues (Chicago and Shanghai). Praying hard for a chance to jet to Korea! xx.
