A diet is close to impossible.

Here are some of my favorite meals over the past couple of weeks.

1) Indian Meal at Science Park II. Buffet is only at $9.90/pax nett. Super worth it! The chicken Tikka I had is the best I ever had. And the butter naan, ahhhh…thinking about it makes me hungry again.

2) vanilla cupcakes I baked for breakfast one Sunday morning. I found the perfect recipe so it’s time to move on to a new dish. Tackled pecan last Sunday and going to give oreo cheesecake a go this Sunday!

3) Ramen at Holland V. Yums, but Ramen Champion is still the best.

4) Alfredo pasta I made for dinner one night. I used those ready-made sauces available at the supermarket and threw in some honey-baked ham to sweeten it. Ridiculously easy dinner that I foresee myself doing over and over again.

Thanks for reading! Xx

what I’ve been wearing…(11)

leave a comment »

Hello all, it’s mid-week and I’ve been feeling extremely sleepy the whole day! I wonder if it’s because it’s too hot or I’m just plain lazy >.<

Here’s what I am looking forward to in the next 2 months just because:

1) next public holiday on August 9 (National Day), way too long since we have had a public holiday.

2) Mid-Autumn Festival because I love mooncakes!

3) Going back Shanghai for a short trip in September

Thinking about these cheered me up a bit already. All the good things, come quicker! But for now, enjoy some shots of my recent outfits ^^

1) top from Zara, skirt from BKK, ear-ring from Forever 21.

I love the ear rings but am finding it a difficult time to match the clothes I have! Or is it because I am not used to loud ear-rings? =o

2) dress from H&M, bag from Karen Millen

one of my favorite dresses ever because it is so comfortable and makes me look very classy lady-like due to the shoulders. here you see the bag I’ve been carrying around recently. it may look small but it can hold a lot of things! very well-made too, absolutely loving the suede and leather pairing together with its gold hardware 🙂

3) dress from Hervelvetvase, blazer from Thevelvetdolls, necklace from Smooch

Just realised that my whole outfit is from blogshops. With blogshops, it’s usually a hit or miss thing, for example this floral blazer, I had expected it to be more monochromatic tones but it turned out to be rather warm-toned so I paired it with a peach colored dress. Still thinking if I should let it go or not, anyone interested please email whitepaperroses@gmail.com for details!

In other peach news, Lana Del Rey is the face for H&M and I am glad to see that peach is still a hot color for Autumn! I love this color and have too many dresses/tops in this color :p

 That’s all for now, xoxo

Bellabox – July Edition!

leave a comment »

How’s everyone doing? I just finished brunch and thought I should do up a quick post before I start tidying my wardrobe. It seems like work around the house is always never-ending!

Today’s post as you can guess by the title, is July’s Bellabox. I would have gotten this up earlier IF I had received it earlier. Can you believe that I only received it on 18 July?

Still I was quite excited for it, but as they say, high expectations lead to even more disappointment~ So yeps, you can probably guess that I am not too pleased with this month’s box.

*info below extracted from leaflet provided and my own impressions follow*

1) L’egere BB Cream *Korea* – Their line of BB creams pack 6 skin care functions into one bottle; whitening, anti-spots, moisturizing, anti-aging, skin renewal and sun protection. Perfect for an easy to manage beauty regime.

I’m neutral about getting this product, because I have way too many bb creams that I haven’t tried yet! Like seriously, if I ever take a photo of the products I have yet to use (I keep them all in a cupboard) you would be shocked. Need to stop hoarding!

2) Jimmy Choo Fragrance *London* – Imagine femininity, luxury and style bottled…Introducing Jimmy Choo, the Fragrance. The EDT, is a floral fruity combination of green top notes with Tea rose, exotic Tiger Orchid and Cedarwood. The EDP is more sensual adding sweet Italian Orange and Indonesian Patchouli to this elixir.

It’s just an okay fragrance for me, nothing that blows me away even though it might after I have tried it on my skin. But right now, I’m too obsessed with The Body Shop’s Moroccan Rose EDT that I got from a haul recently that I am not willing to use anything else hahahaha.

3) Twistbands *California* – Twistbands are so gentle on the hair, they don’t snag or break away our precious, precious mane. Twistband is so chic and sophisticated; they even look cute on your wrist as they do in your hair. New neon colors for summer.

Ahhh, this was something I’ve been hoping to get because I was curious after reading about it and the colors does look good. So imagine my delight when I got it in neon pink (my latest color obsession, can’t wait to wear my neon pink scarf out later!). Unfortunately, I think I got a bad one. The defect wasn’t too obvious (sorry I am lazy to take a photo of it because I am too disappointed with this month’s box) but still!

4) SK-II *Japan* – For more than 30 years, SK-II has brought to many women new, breakthrough technology and product information that have been widely acclaimed in Asia and around the world. Discover and experience the miracle of crystal clear skin and life today.

Meh on getting this too. I just finally settled on a skincare routine that seems to be clearing my skin so I do not want to risk trying other products now. Might pass this on to my mom.

5) Skinmiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack *Korea* – Skinmiso’s nose pack will help rid you of black and whiteheads in the comfort of your own home. With a simple three-step process you can reveal perfect skin and help ensure it stays that way.

Le sigh. Another faillllllllll. I can’t even be bothered to read the back description on what it is about. Not that I don’t have black and white heads, but this sample is just a one time usage so I don’t think I can gauge its performance well.

So after 3 months of Bellabox, I have decided to CANCEL my subscription.

Here’s a few reasons why:

1) When I first took it up, I decided to give it a trial period of 3 month. Now 3 boxes have passed, only June’s box managed to impress.

2) They are increasing their prices to $19.95/box. I wouldn’t even pay $15 for the box, why would I fork out another $4.45?!

3) This month’s came a little late? Like almost a week. Uh-uh, I don’t get why the box will be delivered even later now that they are using courier services.

4) All the samples’ sizes are of a stingy size, I do think that you can try to get samples from counter too (for free!) if you ask nicely. I heard from my friend that VanityTrove offers better sizes but they are ridiculously priced!

5) Most of the stuff that I get I am not super excited about so I would rather do my research and get something I think I would like. 3 months of boxes is $45! That can get you a blush from Benefit which will probably last you forever.

6) Because of reason no.5, I actually haven’t tried most of the Bellabox items over the past 3 months. So even though the idea of getting a box with samples every month does sound exciting, it really doesn’t make sense for me to continue if I am just hoarding onto the things instead of using.

Now, I shall wait patiently for Glossybox to land in Singapore. I hope they will not jack up their prices too high and have awesome products! Are you guys subscribed to Bellabox or Vanitytrove? Leave a comment, I’m interested to see what your thoughts are on it!

Watsons & TheBodyShop Haul

with one comment

I am guessing that everyone should know that I am a hopeless shopaholic. These items I got before my Benefit items arrived, so I am still good on the makeup ban! =)

Just a large paddle brush, eyebrow pencil and this Vaseline moisturizer that is supposed to make my skin glow.

I used to be lazy about body lotion but not anymore! Been very diligent about it so it is only natural that I got a few body lotions to try 😉

**************************

There was a Bodyshop atrium sale the other day at Velocity so how can I skip on the chance to get something from there?!

1) Vitamin E Serum – which I have tried and am absolutely loving it! It is very lightweight and absorbs into my skin very quickly so I don’t have to wait long to apply my moisturizer. In fact, I don’t mind applying moisturizer immediately.

2) Passion Fruit Body Scrub – I have tried it before and love the smell so this was a must-pick-up item for me. Anyone has got good body scrubs to recommend? I do want to try more brands!

3) Brazil Nut Define and No Frizz – it’s meant to be a heat protectant but instead of a spray, it is a cream. Figured that it would be usual for travel and no frizz sounds good to me! Has a smell that I am neutral to but if you are sensitive to fragrances, you might not like it.

4) Banana Banane Shampoo – this is totally an impulse buy!!! I only got it I remembered Elle from Allthatglitters said that it was one of her favorite shampoos. I am such a sucker, I have to get things that people are raving about!

5) Neroli Jasmine Shower Gel – got this because I needed a few more dollars to hit $80 for my purchase to get a $20 voucher. Love the smell of jasmine but most of the people around me seem to hate it =x

6) Deep Sleep Pillow Mist – my Bath&BodyWorks’ ones were mostly used up so I figured why not?

7) Deep Sleep Body Moisturizer – Like I said, I’m on a rage to try on body lotions now….and this smells heavenly so I decided to get the small size to see if I really like it.

Tip: sometimes, even if a body lotion smells good in the tub, it doesn’t mean that it will smell good on your skin. Even if it smells good on your skin, it doesn’t mean that you will be able to stand the smell after applying it all over your body so always get a small size to try it out first!

8) Moroccan Rose EDT – used my $20 off (a single purchase item) for this. IT SMELLS SO GOOD! I keep sniffing hard to smell myself throughout the day hahahaha. I might be biased because rose is one of my favorite scents ever but hey, I’ve never met someone who hates rose scented products!

Thanks for reading and I hope you had a great Monday and will have a good week ahead, xo

Benefit Haul and Start of another makeup ban

with 2 comments

Recently Benefit had free international shipping for orders over usd$95 instead of the usual usd$125, and they had some pretty awesome new kits up so I decided to take advantage of that 😀

Here’s the stuff that I got:

1) All decked out kit, $32 – Deck the halls with belles of beauty! This trio of top-sellers, featuring the POREfessionalsome kind-a gorgeous medium deluxe mini and benetint, gives you a flawless complexion and fabulous flush—the perfect start to any fete-tastic look.

Kit contains:

  • full size benetint, 12.5 ml 0.40 US fl. oz.
  • full size the POREfessional,
  • deluxe mini some kind-a gorgeous, 1.8 g Net wt. 0.06 oz

SUPER WORTH IT since a full size benetint already costs $29!!!

I have been wanting to try out Benetint and POREfessional for the longest time so I was delighted when I found out about this kit.

Dot a little of Benefit’s popular rose-colored tint onto the apples of your cheeks and blend with fingertips. Add a few more dots for a deeper color. It is so natural, you look like you’re blushing from the inside out. It’s the sexiest flush you can get from a bottle.

Can’t wait to try it 😀

2) double the powder!, $34 – Get cheeky with our prized pair o’ powders. Award-winning hoola is the most believable bronze and thrrrob gives you the world’s most passionate flush. Together at a once-in-a-lifetime value…they’re the hottest item in town!

Everytime I order from Benefit, I would order a blush. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I am such a sucker! So naturally I would order this duo to take advantage of the prices. I mean, each of these babies cost $28. Also, they are individual blushes (11g/each)!

Thought that hoola would be good for contouring since it is matte and thrrob is a very pretty pink. Pink blushes are like my Achilles’ heel. I got to have them! It’s a wonder that I still haven’t gotten Dandelion but definitely including that in my next order. Can’t resist it any longer, since collecting box o’ powders are becoming sort of an obsession.

Somehow, I do think that these blushes are being packaged together with a special price maybe because they are trying to clear the old packaging but whatever! One thing to note that, both the boxes does seem to have tiny defects in the sense that they don’t close as smoothly but I don’t really care.

3) watt’s up!, $30 – Our soft focus highlighter turns on “watt” ya got with a delicate champagne glow that’s gorgeous. With a cream-to-powder finish…it’s a switch on “wow” for all complexions. You’ll adore the smooth applicator & luminous sheen.

Come to think of it, I should have waited for this to be released in a kit too HAHAHA. Believe it or not, I actually spent a really long time deciding on what to get for my final item to make the purchase amount to $95!

Should I get a primer, no I don’t use a lot of primers anyway should I get eyeshadow but I have so many already! should I get lipgloss but benefit’s lip glosses are kinda meh, or maybe skincare…..you get the gist.

So I decided on a highlighter instead, since I use high beam almost everyday. And the final question, should I get moon beam, sun beam or girl meets pearl?!!!

LOL. Decided on watt’s up in the end because it is a champagne glow, and it is a cream to powder so it is very different from high beam.

I don’t even know why I’m blabbing so much, maybe because I am too excited by my new goodies.

And while packing them away and tidying up my new vanity, I have decided to go on another makeup ban! Need to start using things and rotate them around instead of hoarding. My last ban last around 2 months+ and I am hoping I will be able to make it to 3 months this time round.

Who’s with me? Let’s encourage each other! XO 😉

I’m married!

with 2 comments

Here’s some photos before I blog a little more in detail.

1) my nails are done at Shine Salon, Far East Outlet. It is gelish and I opt for a gradient effect. My manicurist recommended me to get a single bling because I wanted something simple. Love it!

2) my hand bouquet, absolutely stunning.

3) me with my makeup and hair done, waiting inside the room while the gatecrash is happening. Very satisfied with the results, especially with how the flowers in my hair match my bouquet. Bought the flowers the night before and glad that my MUA was able to do a fantastic job with it.

4) the morning after the wedding. T and I sitting near The Rocks (Shangri-La’s Rasa Resort) enjoying the breeze after breakfast before checking out.

5) <3<3<3

The ‘Use-it-up’ Project (8)

leave a comment »

This month is late again!! I was so busy preparing the wedding, and now that it’s over, I am SO relived. Back to my normal, less stressful life, heh 😉

Can you believe that we are officially into the second half of the year?! Time passes faster and faster each year. I am so looking forward to October when we would be heading to Vegas and L.A.! Just thinking about the planning gets me excited, heh 😉

This month’s Project ‘Use-it-up’ is a little more interesting since I have a good mix of products instead of the usual suspects like makeup remover.

1) Laneige – Water Sleeping Pack_EX

why did I buy it? because it’s been raved about so much!

first impressions? when I woke up the next morning, my face was really soft!

upon finishing? I love how it makes my face next morning but the thing is I don’t really like the product all over my pillow. I’ve also learnt not to put on that much so it wouldn’t be so sticky.

2) Sunsilk – Protecting Leave On

why did I buy it? I was in that ‘try-all-leave-in-conditioners’ phase, heh 😉

first impressions? smells really good and it doesn’t weigh down my hair!

upon finishing? I don’t think it works as well as the Pantene one but my hair is really frizzy though. won’t repurchase this even though it’s cheap!

3) Bath&Body Works – Anti-bacterial Moisturizing Hand Lotion

why did I buy it? I wanted to buy it as a gift to friends but I didn’t buy enough so I ended up using it for myself.

first impressions? too sweet for me!

upon finishing? I got used to the scent after a while, and I enjoyed using it because it absorbs quickly. Still, I don’t think that warrants a repurchase. There are too many hand creams out there for me to try!

4) Missha – Healing Eye Treatment

why did I buy it? running out of my eye cream and needed a replacement so I got this while I was in Seoul last August.

first impressions? I really like how light it feels on my eye area.

upon finishing? It’s not as moisturizing as the Clinque’s ‘All about eyes’ but it still is major love for me as it comes in a tube.

5) Premium Eyelash Adhesive

why did I buy it? on a hunt to try new glues!

first impressions? OMG IT IS MY NEW LOVE!!!

upon finishing? I didn’t even finish it because it dried up too fast -_- will not repurchase because there is so much unused product, ughs. it’s such a pity because the glue really stays on well and is easy to remove too!

That’s all for now, and I hope to blog soon! ;D
