Grand Canyon National Park

with one comment

Woke up to a bright sunny day after a good night sleep at the cabin! Super excited for Grand Canyon because it is my first ever National Park visit in the US despite going there for 3 times already haha.

It was about an hour’s drive from Flagstaff and I talked T’s ears off due to my excitement hehe. Our plan was to go to South Rim since it is easier to navigate around and there were plenty of sight-seeing points. According to T, it doesn’t matter whether we are at the South or North Rim because canyons look the same from anywhere LOL. It was just as well because later on we found out that North Rim was closed for that period!

must take photo with the huge sign to prove that we are here!!!

I shall write less now because you guys are going to be so busy admiring the photos to really look at what I have to say. Also, I can’t really caption every photo with’OMG LOOK SO BEAUTIFUL!’. :p

This was inside Desert View Watchtower.

And spot Colorado River below!

Me being very happy, smiling widely in all photos 😀

bye Grand Canyon, I hope to bring my kids to see you in future and experience your beauty….

The start of our honeymoon

leave a comment »

Slowly but surely, I will finish all my holiday posts. Sometimes I dread looking at them because I just miss the feeling of being on holiday so much! T__T

So, T and I decided to go to Vegas/LA for our honeymoon. Everyone was surprised by our choice of location because the ‘trend’ is to either go Europe or have a beach holiday, preferably Maldives. Well, it’s all because he was going to a conference near Vegas so we thought I can join him after his conference to save on his ticket. I don’t have a specific place that I want to go for honeymoon, as long as it’s somewhere I haven’t been before.

We didn’t really plan any specifics, just a rough itinerary of where we will be on each day. That’s how we roll 😉

I flew to Vegas to reunite with T and stayed the night. The next morning, we left without exploring Vegas because we will be coming back the next day after Grand Canyon.

I swear, the skies always seem bluer when I’m on a holiday!

I had on this silly headband for less than an hour before taking it off because it was making me develop a headache hahaha. I also figured that look just don’t work for me, which is sad. Sometimes I don’t know what’s going through my mind when I buy something.

From Vegas to somewhere near Grand Canyon is 5-6hours drive and we stopped at Hoover Dam, which is about an hour away from Vegas. It was beautiful! Didn’t see the dam in action though since it was technically still summer in early October.

I can feel the heat by looking at the photo.

top from Smooch, shorts from Supré

Beautiful, and then off we went for our long drive to Flagstaff, where we will be staying for the night.

And finally arriving at our home for the night, Wyndham Flagstaff Resort!

We lucked out and got a cabin facing the mountains! It was very spacious and clean, and we both felt sad that we are only staying here for one night hahaha.

Waking up to this ❤

Hope you guys are having a good weekend and I will be back soon with more holiday snapshots! xx

Another rainy day here in Singapore. Been extremely lonely these couple of weeks because T has been so busy travelling around! Hope that December will come soon and we can have an uneventful month.

Here’s 2 outfits featuring the same skirt from Megagamie. I love their clothes! Maybe a list of my favorite online shops soon?

1) Top from Supré, skirt from Megagamie, necklace from Smooch, bag from Kate Spade

2) Top from Zara, Cardigan from Gap, Skirt from Megagamie

Which look do you prefer? Personally, I like the second look because of it’s cute and slightly preppy. Remind me of school haha.

A Little Body Shop Haul

leave a comment »

Anyone else excited for Christmas already?!

I love stepping into Body Shop during Christmas because I love their cranberry scent that is always being re-promoted during Christmas. This time round, I bought a few other things as well because I wanted to pamper myself 😀

1) Aloe & Soft Linen Body, Room and Linen Spritz – bought this because it smells really clean and refreshing. I am obsessed with making the whole house smell nice whenever I am at home!

2) Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner – I had wanted to get Lush’s Tea Tree Toner but they ran out of it so I thought I could give this a try instead. My hormones are a little awry recently and I have been getting spots mainly on my forehead ;( I went for a facial and my skin is currently clear so I wanted to prevent the spots from returning.

3) Hand Cream Set – 2 Wild Rose hand creams? SOLD.

These hand creams are good sizes for me to carry on a flight and having a good scented hand cream/body lotion never fails to cheer me up on long dreary flights.

And for the star of the post:

Isn’t the gingerbread man box absolutely adorable?!

In it are various products in my favorite holiday scent. Gonna start using them in December! 😀

I also have other little hauls coming up from ASOS and It’s the holidays so I am not going to be so hard on myself. Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far! xx

Oceanside, CA

with one comment

*All photos in this post are unedited*

I never used to appreciate the beach. You may think that it is because Singapore’s beaches are just meh (which is true) but I have been to Gold Coast and I didn’t feel anything special at all.

It was only during our holiday at Great Ocean Road early this year that I was blown away. It suddenly hit me, the love for the salty breeze and sand, looking out and seeing the ocean stretch for miles and miles.

Towards the end of our vacation, we were staying at Wyndham’s Oceanside Pier Resort and the view was absolutely breathtaking. We didn’t go down and explore till after we checked out because we were so busy driving down to LA and whatnot the past couple of days.

The atmosphere was very relaxing, little people walking around, unlike Santa Monica. If you are looking for entertainment, this is definitely not for you. The pier is very simple, with only one store.

There were surfers so we spent some time observing them tackling their next big wave.

I don’t think I can ever surf. Sad to say, my sense of balance is absent most times.

And we spotted these residential pelicans!

So cute, there’s a warning there not to go near them though hahaha.

Look at how the water sparkles.

*outfit of the day: Cardigan from Gap, Tank from ASOS, Jeggings from American Eagle, Sandals from RiverIsland*

Don’t you wish to be in Cali right now too? 😉

what I’ve been wearing…(15)

Was transferring the photos from my recent trips and realised that I never got around to uploading these outfits! These are from a few months back, since then, I have been trying to purge some of my clothes and the first 2 dresses posted here have been passed on to my sister and mom.

1) Dress from Swivelle (a long time ago)

2) Dress from Runwaydiva (a blogshop that is not in business anymore, pity because I do like their clothes!)

3) Top from Megagamie, pants from Iora

4) Top from Love, Bonito, Nautical Bow Cardigan from Thevelvetdolls, bandage skirt from BKK

I am selling this cardigan for $12 (ships only to Singapore, sorry)! Email me at if interested. Other goodies up for grabs can be found HERE. Please support ❤

And ta-da, my favorite outfit for this post:

5) Pullover from H&M, skirt from Love, Bonito

Look at the pretty detailing! The color is a major plus point too ^^

Having my own style is proving to be more difficult that I thought it would be. I think I am doing better now, at identifying pieces that I will wear over and over again but there are still times when I give in to impulse and buy a piece that looks SO good on the model.

Give me more time, I will find my way. One of the most important lessons I have found out this year is that I can’t do everything in one shot and some things, just tend to take more time than others. Like how after 3 months I am still trying to organize my makeup and clothes in the new house, but instead of fretting and feeling distressed over it every moment, I enjoy the time I put into it. Because, this is life. Xx

The ‘Use-it-up’ Project (12) – October Edition

with 2 comments

Hi all! I’ve had a productive start to my weekend instead of lazing around as usual and catching up on my shows. So far since last night, I tried a gingerbread man recipe for Christmas, baked a small batch of chocolate chip cookies to use up the remaining butter, tidied my eyeshadows section (finally everything looks more organized!), and now I am blogging! 😀

Oh and can you believe that it’s been a year since I started Project ‘Use-it-Up’? I can’t believe it myself!

1) Bioderma – Makeup Remover (Sebium)

why did I buy it? since I use a makeup remover almost everyday, I am always on the lookout to try new ones to compare. Bioderma has very good reviews among youtubers and beauty bloggers so I decided to give it a try when I saw it on 20% off!

first impressions? removes makeup really well and is even gentle enough to use on my eyes!

upon finishing? I am seriously impressed and has even started on my second bottle. As someone who switches makeup removers very often, I must say that I have finally found a holy grail and won’t be switching in the near future. It is slightly more expensive but it leaves my face really clean and refreshed without feeling tight. Major love!

2) Clinique – Take the Day Off Makeup remover for lids, lashes and lips

why did I buy it? part of the Clinique travel set I got because I wanted to try out their products. This is the last product of the set! I have officially completed everything yay 🙂

first impressions? removes eye makeup really well and doesn’t sting my eye. *thumbs up

upon finishing? I really like it and won’t mind purchasing it in the travel size again but to purchase it in the full size, I am not really sure if it is worth it as I feel that I go through eye makeup removers too quickly that I am not willing to spend too much on them! *stares at Lancome Bi-Facil’s product image*

3) Biore – Cleansing Oil Cotton Sheets

why did I buy it? Like I mentioned, I love to try out different makeup removers and there were a few blog advertorials on this so I decided to give this a try.

first impressions? I have never liked makeup wipes but I do feel that it is slightly better than the others that I have tried before which tends to be on the dry side. However, I felt that 1 sheet is too small for my whole face but 2 sheets will be too much!

upon finishing? I actually have a few sheets left but it has dried up because I didn’t seal it properly. I suppose this will be a good alternative if you are feeling lazy, or on light makeup days. However, I don’t think I will be repurchasing it as I want to try out other makeup wipes! Have already bought Simple makeup wipes and after finishing those, I will be wanting to try out Garnier’s. I tend to take a longer time to finish up wipes though, since I don’t use them as often.

4) Benefit Skincare – Moisture Prep Toning Lotion

why did I buy it? part of the 6-piece trial kit I got off ASOS because I wanted to try out Benefit’s skincare.

first impressions? a little thicker than what I am used to but it does feels very gentle on the face.

upon finishing? I don’t really have an opinion on this product because it is very meh. I don’t see any improvements in my skin and there is no wow factor for me at all.

5) Benefit Skincare – Foamingly Clean Facial Wash

why did I buy it? part of the 6-piece trial kit I got off ASOS because I wanted to try out Benefit’s skincare.

first impressions? it’s got a really nice smell and cleanses well.

upon finishing? I do like the smell a lot and it is very gentle on the skin. I am on the fence on whether I will purchase the full size or not, but probably not because I would want my cleanser to have more skincare properties for example anti-blemish or whitening etc.

6) Heroine Make – Eyelash Glue

why did I buy it? After going through a few tubes of Ardell’s eyelash glue, I decided that it was time for a change! I wanted to go for DUO but actually I forgot how I ended up getting this. Probably because I can’t locate DUO. Which I know now, can be found at all SASAs.

first impressions? it doesn’t stick well at all and I had to touch up a few times a day! 😦 Also the brush is very hard and I often find myself depositing more product than I need to. For people who use eyelashes often, depositing a lot of glue is something you won’t want because you won’t be able to reuse your lashes as many times and also it becomes very obvious and gets uncomfortable quickly.

upon finishing? After using it for a while and the glue has somehow dried up a little inside, the staying power became better. However, the opening of the tube tends to have a lot of glue around it as it doesn’t have stopper so I really don’t like that. I also read somewhere that we are supposed to put the lashes on immediately after applying the glue, instead of waiting for a minute or so for the glue to be tacky. That seemed to help but overall, I don’t enjoy the glue enough to repurchase it. Just takes too much work for me to try and make it work!

7) Dove – Hairfall Combing Serum

why did I buy it? This was bought when I was going through a hair products phase 😀

first impressions? Too oily for my hair! Did manage to smooth out my hair and detangle it pretty well though.

upon finishing? I found out the trick is to use a smaller amount as compared to my other hair treatments since it is of a thicker consistency. I like to use it in the mornings on dry hair to detangle it, but I don’t use it if I am going to curl my hair. This is because the MUA who did my makeup for my wedding day said that putting oil products will cause the curls to lose shape at a faster rate so I will just go ahead and use heat protectant. My favorite hair treatment on dry hair has been Skinfood’s Argan Oil but I can’t seem to find mine anywhere after I have shifted house! Will probably get a new one very soon since I have got friends heading over to Korea 🙂

Ok I am off to tidy my face products! Really need to get rid of some blushers but I just can’t seem to make up my mind which 😦

Have a happy weekend everyone Xx
