Maldives – Day 4 and 5

leave a comment »

This is going to be my last post about the Maldives, but definitely not the last time I am going to think about this lovely place!

Here’s a photo of 5 jellyfishes, can you spot them? They were aplenty at our end of the island so we couldn’t really snorkel there despite staying in a water bungalow T_T

And off we went for dinner after another ‘tiring’ day of snorkeling and hanging by the beach! :p

That’s literally how I am whenever I walk from our villa to the island. Always looking out for sea creatures!

And ta-dah! Here’s our resident shark. Saw it everyday.

Last photo of T on the next day when we were departing. I wasn’t in the mood for photos because I didn’t have any makeup on and I was too depressed by the fact that my holiday has ended!

Although it is really very tempting to go back there again since it was really a wonderful time spent, but I want to check out other islands in future as well for example Palawan, Fiji, Bora Bora etc!

Now I just need money to drop from the sky.

Maldives – Day 4

leave a comment »

Onto the fourth day of our Maldives trip, by this time we are able to recognize everyone on the island, which goes to show how small it is haha. But we really enjoyed the privacy and it wasn’t too boring for us.

Plan for the day was to go to another island where Maldivians stay during the early afternoon. So what better way to start the day than breakfast? I really loved sitting by the beach everyday for meals, so relaxing and I find myself actually eating slower and enjoying my food more.

P1070391 P1070395

T named the photo below, ‘The Lady and the Bird’ LOL. I finally found someone with the same amount of creativity when it comes to naming things. I used to have 2 turtles and they were simply named ‘Big Turtle’ and ‘Small Turtle’.

P1070403 P1070406 P1070410 P1070411 P1070412 P1070415

And it was time to leave the island again! 🙂

P1070418_2 P1070420

It was just a short 30 minutes boat ride, and our tour guide also happens to be the same person who is taking are of the sports centre.

P1070421 P1070424

The island is really small, with only about a thousand inhabitants. Most interesting thing is the coral wall I saw below. At first I had on a shawl in an attempt to be decent, but it got too hot after.

We spent the remaining time just chilling by the beach at a cafe, thankfully I brought along a book. T also kept me entertained. He can be really funny when he’s not occupied with his phone :p

Afterwards we got back to the hotel and it was time to take a dip again! This time round in the pool first and chilling before heading to the sea to snorkel once more.

Photos of the underwater turned out really blurry boo ;( But I really did enjoy all the time snorkeling and hope I get to travel to places like Tahiti, Fuji etc to snorkel again.

Oh and below is the water jacuzzi in our villa that we managed to use a few times.

Another enjoyable day in Maldives! ❤

Maldives – Day 3

leave a comment »

I have some work that needs to be done but heck I am going to take a break and reminisce about my awesome summer holiday by blogging about it!

Day 3 in Maldives was simply magical. Also because it’s our first year wedding anniversary 🙂 Time passes so quickly!

We started off the day with T being silly.

And a full body massage after while listening to the ocean waves.

Technically I can’t even enjoy the view since I was facing the floor most of the time.

But it was a beautiful day in the Maldives!!! :p

Obviously we had to do more snorkelling. There isn’t really many other activities to do, but I was very happy snorkelling everyday so I am not complaining.

IMG_5508 IMG_5510 IMG_5525 IMG_5527

Just for laughs, because nobody looks cute in their snorkel mask right?

IMG_5546 IMG_5549 IMG_5551

And we proceeded to chill by the pool. Such is the life, I missed it so much!

IMG_5554 IMG_5555 IMG_5556 IMG_5558_2 IMG_5560 IMG_5566

Then it was time to go for our sunset cruise that was cancelled yesterday! Thank god the weather was amazing the next day, so it didn’t get cancelled again.

Soon we boarded the yacht and left the island 😀

P1070310 P1070312 P1070319 P1070323 P1070324

It was an amazing 2 hours out at the sea, saw many wild dolphins swimming close by and doing tricks. Also saw a sea turtle.

P1070325 P1070343

And the sunset was just beautiful :’) I felt so blessed at that moment, even now that I got to experience such a wonderful sunset with the one person that I love most.

P1070359 P1070370

A random photo of T playing pool, it’s our daily activity before heading for dinner.

After dinner, we went back to our room and got a surprise from the staff! They do it for everyone on anniversaries, honeymoons etc I guess. Really thoughtful of them.

P1070381 P1070382 P1070386 P1070387

So much love whenever I look back on the wonderful memories we have created together and look forward to more beautiful moments.

This is something that I would never want to let go of, the reason I go to bed smiling and wake up contented ❤

Santa Monica

leave a comment »

Finally found the mood to continue with my Honeymoon posts yay! Looking at the photos cheered me up on a moody day, especially since this was one of my favorite days.

Being away from the city, and just walking hand in hand by the beach ❤

Have I mentioned how much I love the rows of palm trees lining California?

We took the Pacific Coast Highway for a scenic road but of course, nothing will ever compare to Great Ocean Road!

And ta-da, finally arriving at Santa Monica!

Isn’t it beautiful?!

Time to let the photos do the talking again, heh 😉

P1050114 P1050115

P1050140 P1050137

This was also the first time that I took off my shoes for the beach and actually enjoyed the sand. I usually hate the feel of sand on my bare feet and will fight to keep my shoes on :p

Maybe there’s something magical about the sand, so soft and warm.

P1050170 P1050151

That’s me realising that I went too deep into the water and therefore trying to get out asap HAHA.

Note to self: don’t ever wear maxi dresses to the beach again!

And that’s my Santa Monica experience, summed up in beautiful photos.

Headed to Venice Beach afterwards and I will have the photos up sooooon I hope!

Good weekend everyone xxx 🙂

Downtown LA

with 2 comments

After surviving the Death Valley Drive from Vegas to LA, we spent the night in Oceanside. The next morning, we drove almost 2 hours to get to downtown LA!

Was very excited because I seriously thought that I would be able to spot some stars but no, not a single one. Plus, the weather was super gloomy! It drizzled on and off….

Found a place to park here for USD$10 for the whole day and got tickets for the Hop-on Hop-off bus. Didn’t really enjoy it because the bus was super late at the end of the day (I suspect it was due to the shitty traffic in LA). Think it’s better for people who wants to explore more places by switching lines and going to the beach.

While waiting for T to come back with my pullover because it was getting cold, I got approached by Mr Incredible to take a photo together.

I naively thought it would be free but just before another tourist helped to snap the photo (with my camera) he showed me a wad of cash in his palm and told me that I have to tip him afterwards. That sneaky bastard! Shocked, I asked him how much and he said it depends on myself and gave a gauge of $20.

This explains my forced-to-smile face in the photos below.

P1050050 P1050051 P1050052

In the end I only gave him US$3 and said he would have to wait for my husband to be back if he wants more because I have no more change. Obviously, he didn’t want to wait.

Anyway, unhappy things aside!

After T got back, we got on the hop-on hop-off bus and started our journey. Stopped at sunset boulevard even though there’s not much here because we were getting hungry.

P1050055 P1050059

After lunch we continued our journey and stopped near Rodeo Drive. But the thing is they dropped us so far away and it’s not possible for us to walk there if not we would miss the next bus. Another reason why I feel that taking the bus is a waste of money.

P1050071 P1050075

Well, at least we did manage to take some pretty photos along the streets.

The most exciting place for me was The Groove because the whole vibe there is so cheery. However, I spent most of my time in Forever 21 choosing some accessories so I didn’t get to explore the whole place. T insisted that we not spend over 30 minutes there in case we can’t view the Hollywood sign after the sun sets 😡

Really pretty right!

And below with some flowers 🙂

And yes, we did manage to catch a view of the Hollywood sign! Very far away and after my 3x zoom this is what I managed to capture.

I had thought I would be able to take a photo next to it but it was only after I came back then I realized I would have to drive there. Well I can only blame myself for not doing enough research!

Ended the day with some shopping at American Eagle, Sephora, and Victoria’s Secret so that cheered me up quite a bit.

ootd: dress from ASOS, pullover from Aeropostale, scarf and sandals from River Island

sorry for whining so much in this post!

It was just one of the more disappointing days throughout the whole trip but I still did enjoy myself because it’s the company that matters ❤

Death Valley National Park

with 3 comments

Continuing on with my honeymoon posts this weekend =)

After Vegas, we planned to head to LA for the rest of our holiday. We set out pretty early because we took a detour and went to Death Valley National Park.

Enjoy the beautiful photos!

Death Valley isn’t one of the well-known National Parks so we don’t see a lot of people around (unlike Grand Canyon). Must be very scary if you are here at night!

I felt like I am so small, overwhelmed by how vast and empty the land is.

It sure was very interesting driving through it, experiencing the different pressures when we were below sea level and then over 10,000 feet when we were at the mountains.

Very eerily beautiful, would definitely recommend it for anyone who’s in the vicinity. xx

My favorite things in Vegas

leave a comment »

After Grand Canyon, we headed back to Vegas and stayed there for 3 nights.

The first night we ended up at Wynn’s for its famous buffet 😀

IMG_2095 IMG_2093

As we were tired from spending the day at Grand Canyon, we left exploring the Strip’s nightlife to the next night.

The first hotel that we hit  the next day was Venetian. My favorite, since it’s really beautiful! I love how all hotels are so extravagant and try to transport you to another place. I guess, that’s why it’s easy to lose touch with reality in Vegas =o

P1040885 P1040879

Loving my drop waist dress from ASOS.

We headed to Caesars Palace next.

Spot the spiral escalator in the bottom right photo! T really loves it, and was telling me how unique the design was and all. To me, as long as it gets me up/down, I don’t really care if it’s straight or spiral lol.

P1040908 P1040911

We also did a little gambling at their jackpot machines and I won a little while before losing everything again. Don’t gamble people!

IMG_2104 IMG_2106

Headed over to New York New York for Zumanity, which is an adult show because come on, we are in Vegas! But, ahhh boring for us. Actually not very interested in the acts and actually found some of them rather revolting. I am a very traditional person *ahem*

But, check out the lady’s eyelashes below!

Got out on the Strip to catch a few free shows at various hotels.

P1040917 P1040918

P1040924 P1040928

P1040937 P1040934

The one at Treasure Island was quite nice 🙂

It was also pretty fun looking at drunk people on the streets making a fool out of themselves 😉 I was especially amused by a guy who kept trying to pick up girls with super cheesy lines like ‘Hey that’s me calling you’ when a random girl’s hp rang.

The next day was also my birthday, October 9!

Since one of my favorite hobbies is shopping, T planned for us to spend a whole day at the Las Vegas Premium Outlets. I prefer the South Wing to the North, which was essentially a mall without the outlet feel.

IMG_2119 IMG_2156

Me in my birthday dress, and T grinning widely after getting his dream bags at Tumi.

He then brought me to the Effiel Tower Restaurant for my birthday dinner. It was a surprise as I thought we would just randomly picked some place, but his boss actually recommended him to bring me here.

IMG_2158 IMG_2151

IMG_2150 The best potato croquette ever.

We had an excellent view of Bellagio Fountains ❤

And that marks the end of my wonderful stay in Vegas and a memorable 24 birthday.

Thanks for reading! xx
