Maldives – Day 3

leave a comment »

I have some work that needs to be done but heck I am going to take a break and reminisce about my awesome summer holiday by blogging about it!

Day 3 in Maldives was simply magical. Also because it’s our first year wedding anniversary 🙂 Time passes so quickly!

We started off the day with T being silly.

And a full body massage after while listening to the ocean waves.

P1070255

Technically I can’t even enjoy the view since I was facing the floor most of the time.

But it was a beautiful day in the Maldives!!! :p

Obviously we had to do more snorkelling. There isn’t really many other activities to do, but I was very happy snorkelling everyday so I am not complaining.

Just for laughs, because nobody looks cute in their snorkel mask right?

And we proceeded to chill by the pool. Such is the life, I missed it so much!

Then it was time to go for our sunset cruise that was cancelled yesterday! Thank god the weather was amazing the next day, so it didn’t get cancelled again.

Soon we boarded the yacht and left the island 😀

It was an amazing 2 hours out at the sea, saw many wild dolphins swimming close by and doing tricks. Also saw a sea turtle.

And the sunset was just beautiful :’) I felt so blessed at that moment, even now that I got to experience such a wonderful sunset with the one person that I love most.

A random photo of T playing pool, it’s our daily activity before heading for dinner.

After dinner, we went back to our room and got a surprise from the staff! They do it for everyone on anniversaries, honeymoons etc I guess. Really thoughtful of them.

So much love whenever I look back on the wonderful memories we have created together and look forward to more beautiful moments.

This is something that I would never want to let go of, the reason I go to bed smiling and wake up contented ❤

I’m married!

Here’s some photos before I blog a little more in detail.

1) my nails are done at Shine Salon, Far East Outlet. It is gelish and I opt for a gradient effect. My manicurist recommended me to get a single bling because I wanted something simple. Love it!

2) my hand bouquet, absolutely stunning.

3) me with my makeup and hair done, waiting inside the room while the gatecrash is happening. Very satisfied with the results, especially with how the flowers in my hair match my bouquet. Bought the flowers the night before and glad that my MUA was able to do a fantastic job with it.

4) the morning after the wedding. T and I sitting near The Rocks (Shangri-La’s Rasa Resort) enjoying the breeze after breakfast before checking out.

5) <3<3<3

A casual Valentine’s day dinner

with 2 comments

Our initial plan was to not celebrate since he has to go on a business trip. I even jokingly tell him to switch his flight to be back on the 15 so we can skip the stress of deciding where to go.

In the end, after reading about all the fun things that people were doing over the weekend, I decided to try my luck making a reservation. BUT, le sigh…I ish have no luck 😡

We ended up at an Italian restaurant near our place, so casual that he even wore berms 😉

1) complimentary bread, very lightly toasted, just the way I like it.

2) smoked salmon – I wanted Parma ham with rock melon but T prefers salmon so I gave in. Love is all about small compromises! :p Salmon tasted pretty good with the vegetables and tomatoes.

3) Squid Ink Pasta with Tiger Prawns – when it came, I was not very impressed because I felt that the serving was too small. I had imagined huge prawns! But it was surprisingly good, especially the prawns. They were being barbecued to perfection.

4) Lamb chop – the lamb was not overwhelming, and it didn’t have the stinky lamb smell that people fear so much. However, what really made the dish stand out is the roast potatoes – it was very flavorful!

5) tiramisu – because the servings were moderate, we managed to be able to squeeze in a dessert. I’m not a fan of tiramisu, but this made me wonder if it’s because I haven’t tasted any nice ones.

And T got me an extra present – Chanel’s Chance EDT! ❤

No matter how your day was spent, as long as it’s with love, it should be a pretty damn amazing one just like how mine was. X

a present from my Valentine.

I’ve been eyeing the dragon charm when I first saw the photos on Pandora’s Facebook, because I am a dragon baby.

But Pandora charms don’t come cheap (and given my current unemployment status I just don’t see myself splurging on them), so I managed to con T into getting it for me as a Valentine’s Day present, heh 😉

PANDORA is a universe of fine jewelry and watches that can be mixed and matched to create a variety of looks. Explore our range, create combinations that reflect your personality and express the genuine you. (http://www.pandora.net/en-us/explore)

Whether you have a Valentine or not, I hope you will enjoy all the love that is in the air.

Happy Valentine’s day to all tomorrow! XO

Pre-wedding shoot’s dress.

with 2 comments

For those who have been reading, you guys know that I went to Melbourne for my pre-wedding photo shoot. We spent much more money than the average couple because we did the photography ala carte, but it was all worth it! I hope at least, still haven’t seen the photos yet :p

Here are some photos of my dress which I got from Z Wedding Bridal Studio. I will do a wedding post (eventually) as a review and guide for other brides to be in Singapore!

I look extremely tired because we just got back from our morning shoot. I woke up at 330am (which is 130am in Singapore) and I was shivering most of the time because of the winds. Ah, the things we do for a picture.

You are an angel in my life, guiding me whenever I’m lost, holding my hands whenever I’m scared. Truly blessed to have you and I can’t wait for July to come 🙂

Excited for the photos! Meanwhile, Happy Chinese New Year to all! Have fun eating and having awkward conversations with people you only see once a year. X

Day 2 in Amsterdam – Fries and Heineken!

with 2 comments

This is the day after we just got engaged, so our smiles are all very big! 😀 😀

My friends went to the Miniature World while T and I decided to stay in the city to spend some time alone together. We wanted to walk around the area and passed by this fries place. Everyone always says Amsterdam has the best fries and we happened to chance upon it! Must be our lucky day.

I don’t remember the name of the place but it is a purple store and it writes ‘Best Fries in Holland’. If you can’t find it, just look for the place with a queue haha! Fries were great, in fact we had it whenever we aren’t feeling too full =x

It was a gloomy day actually. 5 minutes of rain, 10 minutes of sunshine and the cycle starts again.

The town square was lively with a lot of tourists (not as many as Prague though!) and I loved it!

My favorite photo of us right now ^^

After shopping around, we headed to Heineken Experience! I looked wet because it was raining heavily 😦

We’re not the Heineken Museum, we’re the Heineken Experience. Why? Because four levels of interactive experiences in the former brewery will plunge you chin deep into the fascinating world of Heineken!

See it, hear it, smell it, taste it and enjoy it. Welcome to the Heineken Experience.

It was fun learning about their history but what I’m most excited about was the beer at the end, heh 😉

Here they were explaining to us how beer is being made. and then we went on to see their bad-ass machines! We even went for a 4-D experience, where we are supposed to be yeast or something and we get made into beer. I thought it was quite cool, I love anything 4-D.

And ah-ha! Finally, fresh beer!

My oh my, it really does taste so good when it’s fresh! I used to hate beer but I’m glad I’ve learnt to appreciate it before coming here so that I can thoroughly enjoy the taste 😛

Maybe I’ll get my own beer kit in future!

a date in Dempsey.

leave a comment »

I never blog much about T and I so for the first post for 2012, I want to post some photos of a date that T and I went on some weeks ago ^^

All ready and excited because we are going to one of our favorite restaurants which was was a place where we really got to know each other better 😀

Barracks @ House, 8D Dempsey Road  Singapore 249672
Tel: 6475 7787

Unfortunately, it was raining and I fell down 😦 I was so not in the mood to have anything so we ordered one main and their truffle fries to share. I also got the hot chocolate instead of my usual champagne for comfort.

The main we got was the American sliders and it was pretty good! and as time passes, I felt slightly better and we ordered a dessert to share!

It was a very simple night but I believe it’s not what we did that counts, but how much we enjoyed each other’s company.

pretty christmas lights we saw on the way back…
