Belated Birthday Gift

I first got introduced to this brand on Sushi-cat.net and have been oooh-ing and ahh-ing over their collections ever since. But since their items are rather pricey, I try to not go to their website too often haha :p

20151109_160752-01

This is my second purchase from them. Love how they are being packaged!

20151109_161844-01

The star being this gorgeous necklace, which I imagine will go well with so many outfits. Can’t wait to wear it out!

20151109_160910-01

As I have not gotten new fragrances since I can’t even remember when, I decided to get 2 to try. So exciting and so unlike me to not smell and get something. But, here’s the description for Circus Girl Trailer, one of my choices.

Circus Girls Trailer captures the sweet smell of the entertainer’s perfume and the lingering scent of late night tobacco and cloves. A bright top highlighted by bergamot grapefruit, and fresh green notes fuses flawlessly with a soft floral heart of rose, lilac, ylang, hyacinth, and jasmine. Rich tobacco, clove leaf, powdery musk, and creamy sandalwood finish the fragrance to create an experience of innocence, sophistication, and a hint of magic.

Doesn’t that sounds amazing and exotic? I tried it and absolutely love it! Am so glad I took the plunge and ordered it. Used to be very into collecting fragrances but have been in a rut for too long. Now my interest is piqued again!

October = shopping month <3

leave a comment »

For the past couple of months, I haven’t really been shopping too much because I was rather busy adjusting to my new job and also my body wasn’t really feeling up to it.

But all that changed once it’s October 😛 I always spend loosely and justify it by telling myself it’s ok because it’s my birthday.

So anyway, why not do a collective haul post? Makes my legs go jelly just looking at the photos and very happy with my purchases.

IMG_4950

1) Illamasqua – got these babies off their site when they were having some secret sale for people on their mailing list. A pity that I didn’t manage to snag the nail polish in ‘Raindrops’ though.

IMG_4951

2) New MAC brushes that I picked up at DFS! Totally forgotten how expensive MAC brushes are until I paid =o

IMG_4953

3) More beauty stuff from DFS.

IMG_4952

4) Stayed in Banyan Tree Bangkok while I was in Bangkok for work, and it was awesome! And I love their toiletries so much that I bought some back so that I can ‘recreate the Banyan Tree experience at home’. Not cheap, after 30% discount these added up to ~sgd$100?

IMG_4954

5) Got sucked into purchasing this after my brow waxing session at Tangs’s Benefit counter, BA used this on me and it looks so natural!

IMG_4955

6) Once in a while I step into Body Shop to get something essential (just wanted to get a back up of the tea tree toner) and I go crazy.

IMG_4956

7) and this is the GWP for spending more than $85. Am especially curious about the Natrulift night cream! Also, am loving how travel friendly the size is.

And the photo below just shows how I spent tidying my loots, while watching Youtube beauty videos so that I can lust over more beauty goodies. It’s a vicious cycle, I tell ya.

A Little Body Shop Haul

leave a comment »

Anyone else excited for Christmas already?!

I love stepping into Body Shop during Christmas because I love their cranberry scent that is always being re-promoted during Christmas. This time round, I bought a few other things as well because I wanted to pamper myself 😀

1) Aloe & Soft Linen Body, Room and Linen Spritz – bought this because it smells really clean and refreshing. I am obsessed with making the whole house smell nice whenever I am at home!

2) Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner – I had wanted to get Lush’s Tea Tree Toner but they ran out of it so I thought I could give this a try instead. My hormones are a little awry recently and I have been getting spots mainly on my forehead ;( I went for a facial and my skin is currently clear so I wanted to prevent the spots from returning.

3) Hand Cream Set – 2 Wild Rose hand creams? SOLD.

These hand creams are good sizes for me to carry on a flight and having a good scented hand cream/body lotion never fails to cheer me up on long dreary flights.

And for the star of the post:

Isn’t the gingerbread man box absolutely adorable?!

In it are various products in my favorite holiday scent. Gonna start using them in December! 😀

I also have other little hauls coming up from ASOS and Beauty.com. It’s the holidays so I am not going to be so hard on myself. Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far! xx

End of makeup ban + a tiny haul from the States

with 7 comments

Previous trips to the States have always resulted in me bringing back massive amounts of skincare and makeup because I love watching beauty gurus on Youtube and whatever they have raved about, I have this uncontrollable urge to get it. Doesn’t matter if I already have a million neutral eyeshadow shades in my collection, or 5000 pink blushers. I MUST HAVE WHAT THEY ARE HAVING.

Honestly, I do not know what is wrong with me 😦

But this time round, I managed to control myself and mostly got items that I really need! *pats self on shoulder* ^__^

Here’s a photo I posted on Instagram.

I thought I would go over each of the item and why I bought them as well, because I’ve always enjoyed doing such posts.

1) Maybelline – Baby Lips in Peppermint and Pink Punch
I knew I had wanted the pink punch as soon as I saw on YT how pigmented it was. That would be great for a lazy, less-makeup day to brighten up the complexion. I struggled between getting the peppermint or quenched, and decided on peppermint because for its SPF 20. Old me would have gotten peppermint and quenched but new me figured that by the time I finished using these 2 baby lips, I would be bored of the product and itching to try new ones.

2) Clinique – Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
I have used it before and loved it, so I am getting it again in the travel size because I have 3 moisturizers that I am currently trying to use up. This will be part of my travel kit!

3) Origins – Zero Oil
This sounds like an interesting product so I thought I would give it a try. It is described as having nature’s shine-fighters, including astringent Winterbloom, oil-absorbing minerals and purifying Chinese Camphor, banish oily shine instantly and create a lasting matte finish.

4) Neutrogena – Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask
Ingrid from missglamorazzi  is always raving about it, and I was just about to finish up my current cleanser so I thought I would give it a try. Seems cool that I can use this as a mask as well, just gotta leave it on longer and then wash it off. If I am not wrong, this is only available in the States so all the more I wanted to get it!

5) Essie Nail Polishes – Penny talk & A cut above

It has been a ritual for me to get Essie nail polishes everytime I go to the States. I don’t even apply nail polishes that much myself as I try to go for a manicure every now and then but I just love how their bottles look! This time round, the colors look amazing and I can’t to try them out.

6) Clarisonic – brush heads for sensitive skin
Getting 2 brush heads to last me for at least half a year before I head back to the States next summer. Clarisonic has been working just average for me, or maybe it’s because I don’t have many problems anyway so I decided not to do the review. I will still continue to use it though because I have spent so much money on it, and also prevention is better than cure!

7) Sephora – Smudger brush
My current smudger brush is not precise enough so I wanted to buy an even smaller one. This is also on sale, so score!

8) Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil Liner in Demolition
I used to be a gel liner girl but recently, I’ve been loving the look of liquid eyeliner over pencil liner. And I’ve absolutely been loving using just pencil liners as well. Have a black liner, very dark brown, a light brown shimmery one but no medium-dark brown! ;P Have been wanting to try out Urban Decay’s 24/7 liners for the longest time anyway.

9) MAC blush in Miss Behave

It was from a collection sometime ago (I lost track of MAC collections because they had too many!) and I really like the heart shape motif so I decided to get it. What’s one more pink blush when I already have such a huge collection?

And that marks my tiny beauty haul from the States. Less than 10 items! Aren’t you proud of me? Lol…

A little Watsons Haul

leave a comment »

I find it very difficult to walk out of Watsons without purchasing anything. Is this a problem?

Well, if it’s some consolation for my wallet at all, all these items are on sale 😀

(from left to right)

1) Vaseline Healthy White Lotion with spf 24 – wanted to get a body lotion with spf for ages because I felt that my face is whiter than my body so I wanted to protect my body too! Now I just need to incorporate it into my daily morning routine which can be difficult since I am always in a rush.

2) L’oreal Waterproof eye makeup remover – this was on sale for $9.90 only so I decided to get it. I can never have too many makeup removers since I use it almost everyday!

3) Matomage Hair Styling Stick (Super Hold) – I have been eyeing this for some time already but was waiting for it to be on sale :p I thought the concept was quite interesting and I don’t have to dirty my hands if I am outside. My baby hairs can get rather irritating at times. From its product description ‘A non-sticky styling stick that moisturizes while it tames stray ends and provides super-hold for a bun or upward hair styles.’

4) Ellips Hair Vitamin – they were going at 2 for $19.90 so I picked them up because my mom and a friend had raved about them before. Plus they are in capsules form, which makes it easy to bring it on the go or even for traveling rather than bringing a big bottle around.

Pink bottle’s product description: The combination of Jojoba oil, UV protection, Pro vitamin B5 and vitamin A, C, E helps treat damaged hair structure and repair spilt end caused by hair blow drying, curling, coloring, rebonding. Hair looks healthier, manageable and shiny.

Purple bottle’s product description: Nutri color with triple care formulation helps nourish your colored hair, treat dull hair caused by sunray, and preserve shine of colored hair.

Excited to try the hair products out. Thanks for reading! 🙂

Watsons & TheBodyShop Haul

with one comment

I am guessing that everyone should know that I am a hopeless shopaholic. These items I got before my Benefit items arrived, so I am still good on the makeup ban! =)

Just a large paddle brush, eyebrow pencil and this Vaseline moisturizer that is supposed to make my skin glow.

I used to be lazy about body lotion but not anymore! Been very diligent about it so it is only natural that I got a few body lotions to try 😉

**************************

There was a Bodyshop atrium sale the other day at Velocity so how can I skip on the chance to get something from there?!

1) Vitamin E Serum – which I have tried and am absolutely loving it! It is very lightweight and absorbs into my skin very quickly so I don’t have to wait long to apply my moisturizer. In fact, I don’t mind applying moisturizer immediately.

2) Passion Fruit Body Scrub – I have tried it before and love the smell so this was a must-pick-up item for me. Anyone has got good body scrubs to recommend? I do want to try more brands!

3) Brazil Nut Define and No Frizz – it’s meant to be a heat protectant but instead of a spray, it is a cream. Figured that it would be usual for travel and no frizz sounds good to me! Has a smell that I am neutral to but if you are sensitive to fragrances, you might not like it.

4) Banana Banane Shampoo – this is totally an impulse buy!!! I only got it I remembered Elle from Allthatglitters said that it was one of her favorite shampoos. I am such a sucker, I have to get things that people are raving about!

5) Neroli Jasmine Shower Gel – got this because I needed a few more dollars to hit $80 for my purchase to get a $20 voucher. Love the smell of jasmine but most of the people around me seem to hate it =x

6) Deep Sleep Pillow Mist – my Bath&BodyWorks’ ones were mostly used up so I figured why not?

7) Deep Sleep Body Moisturizer – Like I said, I’m on a rage to try on body lotions now….and this smells heavenly so I decided to get the small size to see if I really like it.

Tip: sometimes, even if a body lotion smells good in the tub, it doesn’t mean that it will smell good on your skin. Even if it smells good on your skin, it doesn’t mean that you will be able to stand the smell after applying it all over your body so always get a small size to try it out first!

8) Moroccan Rose EDT – used my $20 off (a single purchase item) for this. IT SMELLS SO GOOD! I keep sniffing hard to smell myself throughout the day hahahaha. I might be biased because rose is one of my favorite scents ever but hey, I’ve never met someone who hates rose scented products!

Thanks for reading and I hope you had a great Monday and will have a good week ahead, xo

Benefit Haul and Start of another makeup ban

with 2 comments

Recently Benefit had free international shipping for orders over usd$95 instead of the usual usd$125, and they had some pretty awesome new kits up so I decided to take advantage of that 😀

Here’s the stuff that I got:

1) All decked out kit, $32 – Deck the halls with belles of beauty! This trio of top-sellers, featuring the POREfessionalsome kind-a gorgeous medium deluxe mini and benetint, gives you a flawless complexion and fabulous flush—the perfect start to any fete-tastic look.

Kit contains:

  • full size benetint, 12.5 ml 0.40 US fl. oz.
  • full size the POREfessional,
  • deluxe mini some kind-a gorgeous, 1.8 g Net wt. 0.06 oz

SUPER WORTH IT since a full size benetint already costs $29!!!

I have been wanting to try out Benetint and POREfessional for the longest time so I was delighted when I found out about this kit.

Dot a little of Benefit’s popular rose-colored tint onto the apples of your cheeks and blend with fingertips. Add a few more dots for a deeper color. It is so natural, you look like you’re blushing from the inside out. It’s the sexiest flush you can get from a bottle.

Can’t wait to try it 😀

2) double the powder!, $34 – Get cheeky with our prized pair o’ powders. Award-winning hoola is the most believable bronze and thrrrob gives you the world’s most passionate flush. Together at a once-in-a-lifetime value…they’re the hottest item in town!

Everytime I order from Benefit, I would order a blush. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I am such a sucker! So naturally I would order this duo to take advantage of the prices. I mean, each of these babies cost $28. Also, they are individual blushes (11g/each)!

Thought that hoola would be good for contouring since it is matte and thrrob is a very pretty pink. Pink blushes are like my Achilles’ heel. I got to have them! It’s a wonder that I still haven’t gotten Dandelion but definitely including that in my next order. Can’t resist it any longer, since collecting box o’ powders are becoming sort of an obsession.

Somehow, I do think that these blushes are being packaged together with a special price maybe because they are trying to clear the old packaging but whatever! One thing to note that, both the boxes does seem to have tiny defects in the sense that they don’t close as smoothly but I don’t really care.

3) watt’s up!, $30 – Our soft focus highlighter turns on “watt” ya got with a delicate champagne glow that’s gorgeous. With a cream-to-powder finish…it’s a switch on “wow” for all complexions. You’ll adore the smooth applicator & luminous sheen.

Come to think of it, I should have waited for this to be released in a kit too HAHAHA. Believe it or not, I actually spent a really long time deciding on what to get for my final item to make the purchase amount to $95!

Should I get a primer, no I don’t use a lot of primers anyway should I get eyeshadow but I have so many already! should I get lipgloss but benefit’s lip glosses are kinda meh, or maybe skincare…..you get the gist.

So I decided on a highlighter instead, since I use high beam almost everyday. And the final question, should I get moon beam, sun beam or girl meets pearl?!!!

LOL. Decided on watt’s up in the end because it is a champagne glow, and it is a cream to powder so it is very different from high beam.

I don’t even know why I’m blabbing so much, maybe because I am too excited by my new goodies.

And while packing them away and tidying up my new vanity, I have decided to go on another makeup ban! Need to start using things and rotate them around instead of hoarding. My last ban last around 2 months+ and I am hoping I will be able to make it to 3 months this time round.

Who’s with me? Let’s encourage each other! XO 😉

Watsons & Guardian Haul

leave a comment »

It is the Great Singapore Sale period, and even if the shops aren’t participating in the event, they have their own sales as well.

I can almost never resist getting something from Watsons/Guardian even when items are not on sale, so how can I resist now? ;P

1) Charles Worthington’s Liberate the Lustre – Shine like a star with Liberate the Lustre, a super light shine mist that’ll leave hair gleaming. It’s also the perfect finishing touch for smoothing unwanted flyaways and spilt ends. Application: Spritz over your dry, finished style.

I have used this only once but I LOVE the effect! It really made my hair very sleek and shiny, giving the wow factor. Its usual price is $18.90 at Watsons, and there is a 20% off right now.

2) Koji Etiquette & Travel Eye Makeup Cleansing Swab – Cleansing end is soaked with mineral oil to easily remove and cleanse off waterproof mascara or eyeliner. Dry end conveniently removes any traces of oil and smudges for the perfect finishing touch.

I thought this will be convenient to have it in the makeup pouch for long days because if I am lining my lower lashline, it is bound to be smudge by mid day in this humid Singapore weather. Retailing at Watsons for $4.20, working out to be $.042/use!

3) Kiss Me Heroine Make Eyelash Fixer – unique flat and angled brush for even application, super waterproof and powerful adhesion, beautiful, clear finish.

I had wanted to get Dollywink’s eyelash glue but it is so difficult to locate it! So I thought I could try this out but so far I am rather disappointed by it because I have to touch up a few times a day ~.~ Retailing at $14.90 (Watsons).

And here are some items I just got from Guardian and haven’t tried, all with 20% off! 😀

A little Ulta Hual

leave a comment »

I am back in Singapore! FINALLY.

I actually reached on Sat and rushed for convocation at Fullerton Hotel and was busy all the way till midnight. But I had a good 12 hours sleep and am feeling so much better now.

Just thought that I should update about the fact that I finally got THE CLARISONIC ;D

I am excited to try it out, especially since I’ve noticed that I’ve been breaking out more often and blackheads and enlarged pores are getting more apparent! Really worried that if I don’t take good care of my skin, I’m gonna age really fast especially since I apply makeup almost everyday.

Will update this space once I’ve tried it out in maybe 2 months time.

Some other stuff that I got….

Hope everyone’s having a wonderful weekend! XO

A little Target Haul

leave a comment »

Hello! Sorry for disappearing. I am in the States now! Had a super long flight and arrived on Saturday night which was Singapore’s Sunday afternoon already. This actually means that I travelled for ~27 hours! Felt like dying during the last few hours of the flight, no kidding yo.

On Sunday, we went shopping the whole day because that’s what the GUYS wanted. I actually got less than what I had expected and everything is something that I would wear over and over again (at least for the clothes) so I was really happy about that.

Anyway, enough digressing and back to the title of my post…we went to Target at the end of the day so I took the chance to pick up some things that I really wanted! This is what everyone should do, just get things that they want instead of buying a whole lot of other crap to try to tone down that lemming heh 😉

YES, FINALLY….What I bought!

I have a straightener already but my sis wanted it so I couldn’t bring that over when I get married so I decided to finally cave in and bought a curling iron! I have always been fascinated by the youtube gurus who use it and am glad that I own one now too 😀

1) Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat – Now that I don’t have much time to go to the nail salon, I thought I had better buy a top coat so I could paint my nails more often instead of leaving them plain and ugly.

2) Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop – I am absolutely psyched about this! Very tempted to get them in more colors now, like 5 more >.<

3) Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe – I had really wanted to get more colors, but they just didn’t appeal to me. Like ‘Back to Bronze’ reminds me of the Benefit cream shadow that I have, and the white one reminds me of the NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow pencil in Milk, except with shimmer. But I just wasn’t tempted to get them at all!

4) Essie Nail Polish in Lilacism – it’s a cream shade and I adore creams! I always have to get an Essie nail polish whenever I see them because they are just so pretty to me.

5) Maybelline Fit me! Blush in Deep Rose – got this for my sis as she had requested for a blush.

You guys know this means that my makeup ban is unsuccessful right, but hey at least I lasted for 2 months! =p

Most probably heading to the mall on Wednesday, really excited!
